HOPEWELL TWP.: Crash hospitalizes Hopewell Twp. teen 

A Hopewell Township teen suffered a head injury in an auto crash at 10 a.m. Friday, April 29, on County Route 546 at the intersection of Dublin Road.
Police said a 2002 Acura and a 2014 Jeep collided.
The Acura was driven by Laraeb Tahir, 18, from Hopewell Township. Ms. Tahir was transported by Hopewell Valley Emergency Services to an area hospital, where she was admitted for a head injury.
The Jeep was driven by Eva Wertman, 67, from Newtown, Pa. Ms. Wertman was taken to an area hospital by Ewing Township Emergency Services, where she was expected to be treated and released for minor injuries.
Hopewell Township police said the investigation revealed that Ms. Tahir was southbound on Dublin Road when she disregarded a stop sign while trying to make a left turn onto Washington Crossing-Pennington Road. Ms. Tahir’s vehicle collided with the Jeep, which was traveling west on Route 546.
The accident closed Route 546 for about two hours. Traffic was detoured.
Assisting on scene were members of Hopewell Valley Emergency Services, the Pennington Fire Company, the Pennington First Aid Squad, Ewing Township Emergency Services, Capital Health Systems Paramedics and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
The crash is being investigated by Officer James Hoffman, Hopewell Township Police Detective Joseph Maccaquano and Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Don Santora. 
